RM, the leader of BTS, is also known as the speaker, music producer and lyrics writer for the entire group. Although every members play an essential roles in the group, RM is no doubt an irreplaceable member. Growing up in Korea, he surprisingly speaks fluent English. Without entering any cram schools or English classes, he learned it all by himself! Additionally, he is the only person in BTS that can communicate with foreigners using English. After the group developed a high popularity in USA and rest of places in the world, his English ability became even more necessary for them.

Besides, he has a admirable bobby, reading. In many beyond the scene videos and live broadcasts, he usually talks about and recommends books he reads recently to fans. Moreover, his reading habit influences the lyrics he writes. Differ from other lyrics writer, his lyrics is often not about love or sadness, yet about daring to dream and precise memories of youth. The words in songs are always beautified to create astonishing pictures through listeners’ imagination.

However, to everyone’s surprise, he is a truly destroyer of many things. He unconsciously breaks things commonly, such as breaking the sunglass when wearing them, damaging the shoes while dance practice, and smashing the decorations during MV shooting.

He is always said to be the ugliest member in BTS. Since they debuted, countless defamation has been flying like arrows toward him. However, even though he doubted himself for becoming an idol, he never gives up. Nowadays, when the hardest time had passed by, he writes many songs about learning to love oneself is more important than loving other. He mentioned that sometimes we hate ourselves because of our appearance, scores or even others, but the person full of mistakes and faults is also a part of us. It is all the imperfect that makes us a complete human. He said, “We believe that true love begins with loving yourself.”
