They ended Justin Bieber’s record of always winning this award. Now, you understand their popularity. It is time to introduce BTS.

BTS is a Korean boy band formed in 2013 by BigHit Entertainment. There are seven members; they are Jin, Suga, J-hope, RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook respectively.

The name “BTS” means “Bangtan Sonyeantan” or “Beyond the Scene”. “Bangtan” mean “bulletproof” in Korean. This name sounds very stupid to not only people who first hear of this band, but also to members before their debut. However, members of BTS later found out there were no better names for them. The word, “Bangtan” tells their desire “to block out stereotypes, criticisms, and expectations that aim on adolescents like bullets.” In 2017, they released their new meaning of BTS, which is “Beyond the Scene.” This means they wish not to be satisfy with the life nowadays, but constantly overcome obstacles that appear on life path and keep on chasing their dreams.

BTS’ fandom is called “A.R.M.Y” which is short for “Adorable Representative M.C. for Youth”. This name is decided after BTS members read more than 700 comments written by their fans.
